Austin Texas Wedding Videographer | Carissa and Foday at Prospect House Austin Texas

Carissa and Foday were such a match made in heaven. Between their vows to each other and the interaction of there families and everyone at the wedding, these two are destined for greatness. Congrats Carissa and Foday!

Austin Texas Wedding Videographer | Jada and David at Tenroc Ranch Texas

From the first meeting with Jada and David I knew their wedding was going to be a blast.

I knew Jada and David from our church and meeting with them was like meeting with family. It really makes the wedding day easy when the bride and groom are comfortable with their vendors.

The wedding was at Tenroc Ranch and it is a gorgeous venue. the day of was a bit cold but I wasn’t too worried cause the forecast showed it would warm up a bit and I knew the minster wouldn’t make the ceremony long.

Through out the getting ready process everyone was having a good time and there was a a Nic little football game while the groomsmen were doing pictures.

One of the most memorable moments was the picture below of David seeing Jada for the first time, those are the moments we live for as wedding Photographers and Videographers.

Austin Texas Wedding Videographer | Eunice and Eric at Creekside in Driftwood Texas

When Vanessa (Mother of the groom) contacted me about shooting her sons wedding I really hoped that the date she asked for was open and it was! I previously did video for her daughters wedding and I knew if this wedding would be anything like Priscilla and Walter’s wedding then it would be a great time!

Getting to the first location where Eunice was getting ready I was amazed at the venue and how elegant it was being it was my first time there. I was able to capture the moments of anticipation in Eunice’s face as she got here make-up touched up. The moments before the ceremony are always so important for me to capture because its usually the time the bride and groom are apart but they both usually love seeing those moments after.

The ceremony was held at the same church Prascilla and Walters wedding was so I was very familiar and remembered a few of the people. it was very nice.

The reception venue was a blast and it was my first time shooting there and I loved it! I was able to meet the owner and he was a blast never a dull moment with him. The staff was also very nice and took care of me a if I was a guest of the wedding. As all the family and friends came in I was able to sneak Eunice and Eric away to capture some special moments between them and it was amazing! The reception consisted of a dance battle that I was surprised to see a lot of very talented dancers that had some great moves.

This Family was a pleasure to work with as always, and to Eunice and Eric may you have a glorious life together with many blessings!

Austin Texas Wedding Photographer and Videographer | Mary and Gustavo Wedding at Pueblito Viejo

When Mila and I met with Mary for the first time we knew that this wedding was going to be a special one. We talked about different options for making their day the best as possible and Mary was orginized and ready to go which makes our job and the over all day amazing.

When we pulled up to the venue we were amazed by cute chapel next to the lake with a huge fountain shooting into the air. It was like this venue was thought up by a million brides who wanted the absolute best layout for their day.

We made our way up to the house where Mary was getting ready and we were amazed at how awesome Publito Veijo was. the house was gorgeous and was set up for whatever a wedding day would call for. We started capturing as Mary and her family got ready and we could tell the love they have for each other was going to make this day very special.

We went up to see Gustavo and capture him getting ready as well and all of his daughters were there helping him making sure he was ready for the ceremony. We captured a very special moment when I was interviewing Gustavo and a rush of emotions hit him and everyone in the room. Directly after I told Mila that moment is why we do what we do, its to capture memories that will last.

The ceremony began and there were tears of joy and all over it was so special. As the day went on the couple did a special dance called “La Vibora” (as seen in the picture below where they are standing on chairs) The Ladies went first as they were holding hands and dancing around. Then it was the guys turn and they were trying to knock Gustavo of his chair and they did! after they knocked him down one of the guys grabbed him and started carrying Gustavo to a fountain where he proceeded to throw him in. Luckily Gustavo had a extra suit to put on and come back out to party.

Being a part of this special day made me realize that what we do has more importance than just a job but it could be life changing if we do it right and still I’m always honored when people choose me to capture their special moments.

Congrats Mary and Gustavo and thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!

Austin Texas Wedding Photographer and Videographer | Laura and Bill at Memory Lane Event Center

Laura and Bill had were some of the funnest people Mila and I have had the pleasure of shooting for. I was able to capture there rehearsal dinner and that’s when I knew it was going to be a fun time.

I just remember the whole time people saying ” Y’all Ready?” and it made me chuckle every time. It was so cool to see how their families already had such a cool bond like that where they had special lingo / inside jokes.

Shooting at the Memory Lane Event Center always makes for a fun time and its a great venue for people to have everything  in one location and not have to worry about too much outsourcing for their wedding. The staff is always a pleasure to work with and it makes for an easy and top notch wedding day for couples.

I remember close to the beginning of the ceremony “Molly Bear” Laura and Bill’s dog running down the aisle and jumping onto the platform it was really cute they had her dressed up real nice too.

As the night progressed everyone at some point was on the dance floor cutting a rug to some songs from the 80’s and 90’s it was so much fun you can see on the highlight video as well. Both moms seemed to have danced the entire time and it didn’t eve matter what song was on they were just so happy to be there celebrating with their children.

Congrats Laura and Bill and thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!

5 Tips for hiring the Right Wedding Photographer

Here are 5 Tips for hiring the Right Wedding Photographer.

1. Connection

I believe this is the number one most important thing on the list! If you are able to connect to the photographer and they are able to connect with you, they will be able to tell your story in a way that best shows who you are. Also, connecting with a photographer will show you how they will connect with your family and friends the day of the wedding. I’ve done video for a few weddings were I could tell the connection between the photographer and the couple just wasn’t there, they just weren’t clicking with everyone. I think the initial connection begins with the first meeting, this is why I stress to my couples so much to meet face to face because it helps develop a connect no email could.

2. Budget

Your budget will determine whether you should have the initial meeting with the photographer or not. Their pricing is typically on their website or you may need to contact them to ask for pricing. Please Please Please do not just let some Joe Shmo thats going to charge just dinner, and that just bought a camera yesterday shoot your wedding just because he would be “Budget Friendly.” I’ve heard too many stories of couples who didn’t want to pay a professional and regret having horrible pictures or even worse the person never gave them any. It just breaks my heart to know that couples don’t have the biggest day of their life captured well because they didn’t want to hire a professional.

Typically packages are offered and depending on your budget you should be able to find a package that will work great for you. Please  budget for a Photographer…please.

3. Reviews

Reviews will tell you right from the beginning a few things: One, if they are trustworthy enough to follow through with what they’re doing, and two, how the overall experience for people are with that particular photographer. Today it is easy to look up reviews to see what people say about a wedding photographer, and I would recommend reading as many as you can to see what others say about their experience.

4. Style

I’ve come to realize that photography is an art and every artist and every person viewing the art sees it and interprets it in their own way. That being said, every photographer has a style and their work will show you. Some really good photographers are able to adjust their style as well to better fit the needs and wants of the bride and groom. I recommend to all of our couples who we meet with to pic out a few wedding pictures and tell me what specifically they like and dislike about each image that way I can get a better idea of the style they want.

5. Copyright

This one is soooo huge! I’ve heard horror stories of couples who hire a photographer and try to use their own pictures only to find out they need to license them from the photographer, and sometimes need to pay more for the full resolution file! That is crazy! Why on earth would you pay to have your wedding day covered only to have to pay more to use your pictures.

I recommend finding a photographer that will give you the full resolution and the full rights to YOUR images. Our policy is to give our couples full rights to all the images and we just ask to use them for our website and social media, so everything you see on my website is owned by the Bride and Groom that are in the pictures. If at any moment a couple wants us to take down their picture its done and done legally since they own the picture.

-BONUS- Turnaround Time

I know this was 5 tips but here is a bonus! Turnaround time is the time between the wedding to the time you get your images back. Everyone has different times and you should ask whoever you are wanting to book. Some people do a Month or a few months (I do 3 weeks tops). Make sure your photographer clarifies this and make sure it is in the contract.

There you have it 5 (or 6) Tips for hiring the Right Wedding Photographer. I hope you found this helpful and let me know if you have any questions.

Austin Texas Wedding Videographer | Megan and Jim Wedding at the Villa St. Clair in Manor Texas

I had the privilege of shooting Megan and Jim’s rehearsal dinner at Carmelo’s in downtown Austin. I knew the wedding day was going to be special when I arrived and everyone was talking to each other, hugging, laughing, and Megan and Jim weren’t even there yet! A special moment that stood out to me during the dinner is when Megan and Jim stood up to give some direction for the following day and uncle mark had a question about the shuttle taking everyone to the venue from the hotel and wondering if the bus were to leave anyone behind. Everyone busted out laughing and Jim responded saying “Its alright we will make sure you get on the shuttle.”

Their whole day was so nice and special and a lot had to do with the love the whole family had for each other. Villa St. Clair is a very nice venue and is built for weddings, the staff is always great to work with and it makes for the wedding day to go smoothly and be at its best.

Getting to interview Megan and Jim before the ceremony was special to see and hear the excitement the two of them had for this special occasion. The ceremony was very special and it was easy to see the Love everyone had for the lovely couple.

During the cocktail hour everyone mingled and got to listen to and amazing saxophone player all while eating and enjoying the photo-booth.

The reception was a blast with the heartwarming speeches of everyone alongside hilarious stories and what seemed like an un-ending dance party!

Below you can see what i was able to capture of Megan and Jim’s spectacular day. Congrats Megan and Jim!
